Governor Inslee rescinded Proclamation 20-82, which delayed the plastic bag ban. The plastic bag ban was initially supposed to take effect on January 1, 2021 after passing in the 2020 Legislative Session. The proclamation will expire at 11:59 PM on September 30, 2021, which means the plastic bag ban will be effective as of 12:00 AM on October 1. To read the Proclamation, click here.

On December 18th the Employment Security Department (ESD) will be sending out rate notices for unemployment insurance taxes effective January 1, 2021. The rates are expected to increase anywhere from 200 to 600%. We have been working with ESD and the Governor's office to find a solution that will reduce this tax burden.
On today’s call we will have Dan Zeitlin from ESD going over the process for the letter and various things they are working on that may change the rates.
